PM Vishwakarma Yojana

Overview

Recognises traditional artisans with a formal ID/certificate, funds a modern toolkit, and provides two tranches of low-interest collateral-free credit (₹1 lakh then ₹2 lakh) — bundled with 5-7 days of paid skill training (₹500/day stipend) and digital-transaction incentives.

Eligibility

Age 18+, working hands-on in one of 18 specified trades (carpenter, blacksmith, goldsmith, potter, cobbler, tailor, mason, weaver and others), self-employed in the unorganised sector, and not having availed a similar credit scheme (PMEGP/PM SVANidhi/Mudra) in the past 5 years. This scheme is open to all eligible castes — it is not SC/ST-exclusive, but is worth knowing about given how heavily SC/ST communities are represented in these traditional trades.

Benefits

₹15,000 toolkit grant (e-voucher), collateral-free loans up to ₹3 lakh total across two tranches at a subsidised 5% interest, ₹500/day stipend during skill training, PM Vishwakarma certificate and ID card, and a ₹1 per digital transaction incentive.

Application Process

Register free at your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) with Aadhaar, mobile number and bank details; the CSC operator completes your Artisan Registration Form and Udyam Assist enrolment on your behalf.
